Swatch: H&M Matte Metallic Nail Polish - Purple Metal

I bought this polish last August, after Simona from Light your Nails let me know about some "H&M mattes" she found in a store. I wasn't sure about what to expect, but I have to say I'm really happy about this purchase! The polish is not very pigmented, but nails are opaque after two coats and the finish is more satin than matte (perhaps I would dare calling it "almost suede", because of the sparkling particles, really beautiful under sunlight). 

In the bottle there's also a visible duochrome shift, but on nails it's really difficult to catch it. I didn't manage to take pics, but there's a short video (on a swatchicle) I made just to show you I'm not delusional...At least not this time :).

Lo smalto di oggi è stata una piacevole sorpresa, comprato dopo aver sentito parlare di "matte H&M" da (spero di non confondermi) Simona di Light your Nails e provato due mesi dopo (con calmaa), in un giorno "non so che mettere".

E' uno smalto non pigmentatissimo (dopo la prima passata ero perplessa dalla poca coprenza), però ne sono bastate due mani.

Per fortuna non è "matte" come scritto sulla boccetta, ma satinato, ed ha un aspetto molto particolare (forse potremmo definirlo un quasi-suede, date le particelle luccicanti, molto visibili al sole).

Volendo fare la precisina potrei dirvi che sarebbe anche duochrome (come l'ombra "bronzo-dorata" nella boccetta fa sperare), però l'effetto sull'unghia per me è stato veramente difficile da vedere (se non ad angolazioni assurde) e impossibile da fotografare (ho fatto qualche esperimento con uno swatch su bastoncino giusto per farvi capire che non ho le visioni).

I've decided to post about a couple incoming Trend Editons, even if they won't be distributed in Italy. It's a little bit masochistic, I know...some products are really interesting and it's sad to know we won't have the chance to get them!

Anyway I thought it could be useful to know at least about their existence (just in case someone is going abroad or has a friend that could give a helping hand buying them). So here are press releases in English and list of countries where these TE will be available (I hope yours is listed, especially for Superheroes)!

Anche se le temperature insolitamente calde probabilmente non ci fanno sentire ancora in autunno...i giorni passano. E poco tra più di un mesetto inizieremo ad assaporare l'atmosfera natalizia :-0

The picture is not color accurate, but I couldn't resist trying them to see their finish...I'll swatch them as soon as I have some sunlight, they deserve it!

Intanto così! I colori non sono tutti corretti, il rosso è più chiaro/aranciato ad esempio, ma non ho resistito, volevo capire che finish avessero. Appena avrò un po' di sole farò swatch come si deve!

Con il nastro rosa. Breast cancer awareness manicure

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; thanks to Gold Francine, that gathered us all together (Pinterest board at the bottom of the post) also me and my nailbloggers/friends will dedicate a pink post to this important theme.

My first attempt was a pink mani with an "accent ribbon", but it came out so awful I had to remove it. Second attempt: pink + glitter (easier)! The base here is L'Oreal Color Riche Acid Wartermelon (that's how it's written on my label!), two coats, three on ring; the glitters are Shaka Glitter Top coat* 03 Flamingo and 05 Superdiva (on ring finger).

Don't forget to take a look at my friends' posts, they did amazing pink manis! But above all please remember that prevention and early diagnosis are very important, so be breast aware :) (another interesting page about self-exam also here)!

Ottobre è il mese dedicato alla prevenzione del tumore al seno e (grazie a Gold Francine, che nuovamente ci ha "riunite") ecco qui la mia manicure rosa.

Il primo tentativo contemplava una accent nail con il classico "fiocco", ma mi è riuscita così male che ho deciso di rifarla. Così sono passata ad un più semplice rosa + glitter, in questo caso la base è L'Oreal Color Riche Acid Wartermelon (giuro che sulla mia etichetta c'è scritto così): due passate (tre sull'anulare); i glitter sono i Shaka Glitter top coat* (03 Flamingo e 05 Superdiva sull'anulare).

Le mie smaltamiche sono state molto più brave, passate a dare un'occhiata e soprattutto ricordatevi -visto che al 99% se state leggendo qui siete donne- che i controlli (sia preventivi sia in caso di "dubbi") sono importantissimi.

I have to say I didn't know much about Justin Bieber (aside from recalling a Glee episode where boys sang his songs and copied his haircut), but I'm always interested in new polishes!

So here is the press release of Essence Beauty beats trend edition, that will be released next month in Italy.
All products are somehow related to the 19 years old singer. Wait, nineteen years old? I could be his mom!! Really, reading his bio on Wikipedia (I've done some research, I even didn't know he's Canadian :P) I found out that Justin's mother was 17 when she became pregnant, so she's actually one year younger than me (ok, now I feel old).

Back to the collection: I know I can live without stamping Justin's face on my nails, but let's take a look at the other make up products!

Ok, non sono assolutamente preparata sul fenomeno Justin Bieber (a parte una puntata di Glee dove i ragazzi cantavano le sue canzoni, copiandone anche l'acconciatura), ma ovviamente se si parla di smalti "io c'è".

E' in arrivo infatti (a novembre in Italia, già uscita in altri paesi) una collezione Essence dedicata al cantante canadese diciannovenne. Diciannovenne? Cavolo, potrebbe essere benissimo mio figlio...E no, non sto esagerando, documentandomi su Wikipedia (tanto per capire di chi si tratta) ho scoperto che la madre di Justin è rimasta incinta a 18 anni e ebbene sì, ha un anno meno di me :$. (ora mi sento veeecchia).

Comunque torniamo alla collezione,  anche se so di poter fare a meno delle cartine per stamparmi la faccia di Justin sulle unghie, perché non dare un'occhiata a trucchi e affini?
