NOTD: Rimmel 430 Coralicious

This is a really old mani: I took pics last September, then came Fall and I didn't find “corals” very suitable to the season; now it's time to hurry up, if I don't want to keep this post in Drafts until next Summer :-0

This is a Rimmel polish I bought it in Berlin during a trip last year: application was good even if I had to apply three coats (after two coats there was still VNL). No top coat in my pictures.

I haven't been buying anything from that brand since that time, due to cruelty free issues. Anyway this is a very complicated topic for me, it's so difficult to tell who's good e who's not and I feel I'm not able to do it, especially considering European laws (not so clear), that some companies use as a sort of cover, or at least this is what I perceive from their vague approach to the topic. I might sound naïve but I'd like a loud& clear statement on this matter, as Lush one, for instance.
So far I'm just avoiding brands as L'Oreal, Rimmel, Maybelline from big multinational companies but I find really disconcerting that OPI (L'Oreal Coty - thank you GoldFrancine, I got confused with Essie) appears on Peta “not testing” list whereas Zoya (formerly listed as vegan, for what I recall - do you remember anything?) disappeared.

Queste foto sono vecchissime: le ho scattate lo scorso Settembre, poi è arrivato l'autunno e non mi sono sentita molto “da corallo” così le ho lasciate nelle bozze. Adesso ho deciso di darmi una mossa e pubblicare il post, altrimenti sarebbe restato a stagionare fino alla prossima estate.

Questo è uno smalto Rimmel comprato a Berlino l'anno scorso: l'applicazione è buona anche se ho dovuto stendere tre mani (dopo due si vedeva ancora la linea bianca).Niente top coat.

Non ho comprato più niente di questa marca da quella volta, a causa della loro politica di test sugli animali. Questo è un tema veramente incasinato per me, dato che non riesco a capire chi sia veramente cruelty free e chi no, soprattutto considerando la normativa europea che nel 2013 sarà a regime. A volte ho la sensazione che le compagnie la usino come paravento, considerando il grado di evasività di certe loro risposte - sarò idealista ma mi piacerebbe una presa di posizione netta e "forte", come quella Lush.
Per il momento mi sono limitata ad evitare le marche di multinazionali, come L'Oreal, Maybelline e Rimmel, però trovo abbastanza sconcertante che le liste del Peta riportino tra chi non fa test OPI (ormai di proprietà L'Oreal Coty, grazie GoldFrancine, mi son confusa con Essie) e non Zoya (se non ricordo male tempo fa era addirittura in lista come vegana – qualcun'altro se lo ricorda?).
